A conversation about their NEET journey — 4 topics covered

How did you balance school/college with NEET coaching?
M
Mr.Barath Thirumalai R
Balancing school and NEET coaching was indeed a challenge, but I found a way to manage it efficiently. I prioritized my studies by allocating specific time slots for each subject. For instance, I dedicated mornings to school subjects and afternoons to NEET preparation. I also made sure to keep weekends free for revision and mock tests. It was crucial to maintain a routine and stick to it, which helped in managing stress and keeping everything on track. Additionally, I used online resources and study groups to supplement my learning, which saved me a significant amount of time and effort.

Balancing my duties as a Duty Medical Officer and NEET coaching was a bit more challenging. I had to prioritize my responsibilities wisely. I usually worked from 6 AM to 10 AM, and I used this time to catch up on any medical cases or administrative work. The afternoons were reserved for NEET preparation. I also relied heavily on self-study, as I didn't have much time for coaching classes. I found that creating a structured study plan and sticking to it helped me manage both aspects of my life effectively. I also made use of online resources and mobile apps to study during my free time, which was very helpful.
What was your daily study schedule during NEET preparation?
M
Mr.Barath Thirumalai R
My daily study schedule was meticulously planned to cover all the subjects. I started with biology in the morning, focusing on concepts and real-life examples to make the learning process more engaging. Afternoons were dedicated to physics, where I used problem-solving techniques and worked on previous year's questions. Evening sessions were reserved for chemistry, particularly organic chemistry, which I found challenging. I also included short breaks to relax and avoid burnout. I maintained this routine consistently, which helped in retaining information and improving my problem-solving skills.

My daily schedule was slightly different. I started with biology in the mornings, as I found it easier to concentrate on abstract concepts early in the day. Afternoons were reserved for physics and chemistry, with more emphasis on problem-solving. I also included regular breaks and a light physical activity to keep myself fresh. In the evenings, I focused on revision and went over difficult topics. I found that this approach helped in maintaining a steady flow of learning and reduced the feeling of being overwhelmed.
What role did mock tests play in your preparation?
M
Mr.Barath Thirumalai R
Mock tests played a crucial role in my NEET preparation. They helped me assess my understanding of the concepts and identify areas where I needed improvement. I took at least one mock test every week, which was followed by a detailed analysis of the questions and answers. This helped me in understanding the exam pattern and the type of questions asked. I also used these tests to work on time management and to get used to the exam environment.

Mock tests were an integral part of my preparation. They provided a realistic assessment of my knowledge and helped me gauge my performance. I took at least two mock tests every month, which covered all the subjects. These tests helped me in identifying my weak areas and in improving my problem-solving skills. Additionally, they helped me in managing time during the actual exam, which was a significant advantage.
Did you ever feel like giving up? What kept you going?
M
Mr.Barath Thirumalai R
There were times when I felt overwhelmed and thought about giving up. The intense preparation and the pressure of scoring well could be quite daunting. However, my passion for teaching and my goal of helping others through education kept me going. I reminded myself of the purpose behind my hard work and the impact it could have on students' lives. My family's support also played a vital role in keeping me motivated.

I faced similar challenges and felt like giving up at times. The long hours of studying and the pressure of the exam could be exhausting. However, my love for the medical field and the desire to help patients kept me going. I also drew inspiration from my friends and colleagues who were also preparing for the NEET. Their motivation and support were a great encouragement. My family's belief in me was another significant factor that kept me going during those tough times.
