“Making Biology Simple, One Concept at a Time”

I am Dr. Sowmiya, currently working as a CRMI (Compulsory Rotatory Medical Internship) intern at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, Perambalur.

Alongside my clinical training, teaching has always held a special place in my journey. I've always been passionate about mentoring NEET-UG students, especially in Biology — a subject that, despite being vast, doesn't have to feel overwhelming if approached the right way.

Having gone through the NEET preparation phase myself, I understood how easily students can get lost in the sheer volume of concepts Biology demands. That experience shaped my teaching philosophy: I believe that no concept is too complex to be explained simply. My aim has always been to break down Biology into clear, digestible explanations that help students learn faster and retain what they've learned for longer.

As I continue my internship and gain hands-on clinical exposure, I try to bring that same clarity and practical understanding into my mentoring — helping students connect textbook concepts to real, tangible understanding, rather than just memorization.

For me, teaching Biology isn't just about covering the syllabus. It's about making sure every student walks away with concepts that actually make sense to them — simply, clearly, and confidently.

A gentle piece of advice: "Biology doesn't need to be memorized in fear. It needs to be understood with curiosity — once you understand it, you'll never forget it."
